RM Machinery announces the installation of the RMGT 1060LX-6-CC+LD to L+L Printers of Carlsbad, California. The press replaces a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 that had accumulated nearly half a billion impressions in a twenty-year timeframe.
The new press is expected to assume the lion's share of L+L Printers' overall offset work—a mix of commercial products, direct mail pieces, packages, pamphlets, and catalogs for a wide range of industries including healthcare, automotive, biotechnology, travel, and gambling.
"You know you've made a great decision when, if you had to do it over, you'd buy the same machine," said Andy Campbell, vice president of operations for L+L Printers. "This is a very versatile press; we plan on using it to print everything and anything."
Equipped with a 55-inch monitor and cameras throughout the press, the staff at L+L Printers have been pleasantly surprised with the capabilities of the RMGT 1060LX. "The feeder can handle much finer paper—50- to 60-pound stock—at a much faster speed than our old press could," said Kylie Yarwood, account specialist for L+L Printers.
L+L Printers is a full-service print provider founded in 1959. It is located in a 60,000 sq. ft. facility where 63 employees divide their time between two shifts, five days a week. Alongside the new RMGT 1060LX is a 40-inch 2-color perfector offset press, two high-capacity digital presses, large-format printing equipment, and several machines dedicated to finishing production: perfect binders, folders, gluers, saddle-stitchers, tippers, and inserters. L+L Printers also has coders with state-of-the-art matching integrity systems.
The team at L+L Printers is looking forward to maximizing their full capacity that the RMGT 1060LX will allow. "The installation has been seamless," said Frank Scorzelli, president of L+L Printers. "RM Machinery has paid close attention to the necessary details and is working in unison with our press operators. Their measurements are impeccable and their knowledge of our electricity needs is superb."
The press was purchased and installed in late December 2025. Training took place in January.
